The main area of change, apart from the dropping of the open preview facility, is that an auto preview solution is more likely to have a scripting system. Call detection facilities may also be better. Make sure you check out what's available in the market, and with what benefits.

Open preview is available as an option, but the norm is closed preview. This means that as soon as an agent has finished a call and wrapped up, another call will be dialed for him. The screen details will be popped and the agent will be in closed preview mode, studying the details for the called party, and waiting to see if a live call is made.
It's not easy to see why an upgrade of this kind is a reason to upgrade your dialing equipment and outbound method, but if you do, this could well lead to a reduction in dialing setup time.

Fig. 3 - Call Outcome Properties
If you assume that dialer detection takes place, as opposed to all call outcomes being detected by the agent, then it's unlikely that the dialing device being used with the PC or an ACD, will be able to detect all call outcomes, and screen them from the agent.
